Our Story
The idea to turn shirts into blankets is not entirely new; in fact the idea for uBlanket.com was realized after seeing a friends blanket custom made by her aunt. She was a college softball player and the blanket featured uniforms and jerseys from her years on the team. John and Brett, the founders of uBlanket, both thought the idea was really cool but somewhat out of reach for most people, unless they happened to be professional quilters. Thus, uBlanket was born, with the intention of taking the difficulty and guesswork out of turning meaningful shirts into a completely personalized blanket. We make it simple by allowing you to design your blanket online, with your t-shirts,try our demo to see how easy it is.
In addition to loving the idea of turning shirts into blankets both John and Brett feel very strongly about taking part in philanthropic efforts. An unexpected bonus of uBlanket.com was that all the excess shirt and blanket materials we collect each week are used to make blankets for homeless children throughout the country. We are very lucky to have a partnership with Project Night Night, a non-profit organization devoted to helping homeless children, to organize and distribute the blankets we make.
